Reviewing Software Packages on Your Linux System Getting Started Guide 131 Reviewing Software Packages on Your Linux System The easiest way to work with software packages is to use the KPackage utility from the KDE Desktop. To start this utility, choose COAS|kpackage from the main menu of KDE. Kpackage will prompt you for the root password, using the standard COAS dialog box. The software package database of your system is read and the main window of kpackage appears, as shown in Figure 65. FIGURE 65.  The kpackage utility provides a graphical interface to manage the software on your Linux system. Packages installed on your system are divided into categories. When you open a category by clicking on the plus sign, you see the packages included in that cate-
